Music Society

"A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence." ~Leopold Stokowski. To fabricate intricate pieces of art from the serenity of silence is truly a priceless gift bestowed to an individual. The Music Society of IIT Bhubaneswar provides the ideal platform for such individuals to hone their musical skills and showcase it. Since the inception of the Music Society, it has strived hard to promote music both on and off the stage. Members of the Music Society have taken stage on numerous occasions like Alma Fiesta ‘10, Foundation Day ‘11, International Women’s Day, 2011 and many more. It has also given opportunities to young aspiring musicians to take up an instrument and discover their inner John Petrucci or Mozart. Music has numerous shades like Carnatic, Hindustani, Rock ‘n Roll and Heavy Metal. We pride ourselves on the fact that we have created a collusion of musicians from over a wide spectrum of musical influences and playing styles right in IIT Bhubaneswar.
