IIT Bhubaneswar is proud of being a part of the ambitious ASEAN Fellowship Program of MHRD, India. We welcome aspirants from ASEAN countries to be part of our research activities through our Ph.D. Program. We are dedicated to provide quality education and research environment in various frontiers of science and technology. Applicants can apply online on the central portal (http://asean.iitd.ac.in). Those selected get a chance to finish their PhD with funding at par with their Indian counterparts from the Government of India. The funding covers the entire cost of study and living expenses for up to 5 years of their PhD programme.
Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar is established by the government of India in 2008 under The Institutes of Technology Act 1961 with Amendments upto 2012. The Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on 24 March 2011 and by the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012. IIT Bhubaneswar became an Institute of National Importance from 29 June 2012 with notification of Amendment in the Institutes' of Technology Act, 1961 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, (Department of Higher Education) Government of India published in the Gazette of India dated 2 July 2012.
It has been a wonderful journey for Eleven years, during which the Institute grew steadily with its mission to become globally competitive. While the initial years went into creating transit facilities and establishing different academic operations, the four and half years have been very crucial, through which we have achieved a phenomenal growth and the institute completely operating from the permanent campus. Ample opportunities in both national and international stints for internships, research projects and exchange programs has been a prominent trend among our students.
