ABOUT IIT BHUBANESWAR

Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar is one amongst the eight new IITs, established in 2008 in the campus of its mentor organization lIT Kharagpur and the School of Infrastructure is part of the institute since its inception. In the subsequent year IITBBS started operating from Bhubaneswar as a fully-functional institute. It currently offers science based engineering education through undergraduate (B. Tech.), doctoral (Ph.D.) programmes. Apart from the School of infastructure the institute has School of Electrical Sciences, School of Mechanical Sciences, School of Basic Sciences, School of Humanities, Social Sciences & Management and School of Earth Ocean & Climate Sciences. The Govt. of Odisha has provided 935 acres of land at Arugul on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar for permanent Campus. Present campuses are located at Samantpuri (IIT Kharagpur Extension Centre) and Satyanagar (Toshali Plaza) in Bhubaneswar city. The Institute engaged in nationally and internationally funded sponsored research, industrial consultancy as well as in various research collaborations.
 

ABOUT BHUBANESWAR

Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha and popularly known as the "Temple City of India". It has a history that goes back more than 2000 years. The city is well connected by air, rail and road to the rest of India. Together Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack forms the Golden Triangle, one of the most visited destinations in east India. Some important places of Bhubaneswar are Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple, Ram Mandir, Khandagiri & Udaigiri caves, Dhauli giri, Ekamra Haat. The average temperatures of Bhubaneswar range between 150C to 200C in February.

SPECIAL ATTRACTION

Post symposium site seeing tours for the delegates and accompanying persons can be arranged on 10th February 2013. This shall include the visit to either of:
 
1. Bhubaneswar-Konark -Puri-Bhubaneswar, or
2. Bhubaneswar-Chillika lake-Bhubaneswar.
 
An additional nominal fee of Rs. 500/ $25 each per delegate and accompanying person will be charged for the tour. No extra money will be charged for children. A minimum of 20 persons are required for the tour.
