Registration Details

Step Wise Registration Process
 Registration can be done online accessing the website (http://webapps.iitbbs.ac.in/convocation10th/) and using the links in the main page of the website.
 Click on the Registration Button.
 Read the instruction for Registration.
 Register to the online portal by providing your current functioning Email ID and other details and submit the form.
 Login to the portal by providing the Email ID and password provided at the time of registration.
 Click any one option for Registration
 Fill up the Student Registration form and make online payment by clicking the click here button
 Provide your Transaction No./ Reference No then proceed for final submission .
 After successful Registration take the print out and produce it along with the online fee payment receipt and Identity Card for receiving the convocation stole.
Registration Fee
Date of Online Registration: 25th Sep - 05th October 2021
Rs.1000/- towards Degree Certificate and Rs.2000/- towards Convocation stole. Total fee Rs.3000/- for receiving the Degree. Only Ph.D. degree recipients and Medal Winners will be allowed in person on registration. Others may be allowed in virtual mode. Rs.3000/- for receiving the Degree in virtual mode. Those who cannot attend in virtual mode they will be treated as in absentia & they need to pay only Rs.1500/- for sending their degree to their home address after the Convocation.

Guidelines for Degree Recipients

First rehearsal: 7th to 12th October 2021 (Trainig for Online Degree Recipients)
Time: 11.00 A.M. onwards
Date: October 19th, 2021 (Tuesday)
Rapid Antigen Test to be performed by the Medical Unit.
Reporting for Physical Registration and collection of stole :
Time: 9.30 A.M. to 12.30 P.M.
Venue: Community Centre, IIT Bhubaneswar Argul, IIT Bhubaneswar
Second Rehearsal: (Attending Rehearsal is a MUST)
Time: 2.30 P.M.
Venue: Community Centre, Argul, IIT Bhubaneswar

Reporting on the Convocation Day :

Time : 9.00 A.M. sharp
Venue : Community Centre, Argul, IIT Bhubaneswar

  • Please enter the Convocation Venue with proper dress code as mentioned in the convocation portal and occupy the seat allotted to you by 09.00 hrs.
  • All degree recipients have to receive degree with the dress code, even in virtual mode (stole will be mandatory). Students without dress code will be considered as receiving degree in absentia.
  • Maintain the solemnity of the function.
  • The audience shall remain standing at their respective seats as the Academic Procession enters and proceeds towards the dais.
  • Degrees will be awarded to all degree recipients (whose names are printed in the Convocation Brochure) in order of Ph.D., M.Tech., M.Sc., Dual Degree and B.Tech. degrees.
  • As the names of degree recipients for a particular degree are called, they should proceed, one by one, to the dais in a line following the specified order. While moving to the dais for receiving the degrees from the Director, they should bow before the Chief Guest, Chairman, Board of Governors and Guests of Honour. After receiving the degree certificates, they should return to their respective seats.
  • The candidates will remain standing at their places and the Director will admit and charge them with the respective Degrees.
  • The Recipient of the President of India Gold Medal will read the pledge in Sanskrit, and all the degree recipients will stand up and take the oath by reciting the same.
  • The audience will remain standing till the Academic Procession leaves the Hall.
  • The Endowment, other Awards and the Institute Proficiency Prizes can be collected after the Convocation ceremony between 3.00 P.M - 5.00 P.M. from the Academic Section, 2nd Floor, Main Building.

Fee Details

To receive the degree in person or virtual mode : Rs. 3000/- (Rupees three thousand) only. It includes Rs. 1000/- towards degree certificate and Rs.2000/- towards Convocation stole (only for Ph.D. degree and medal recipients who will be physically present and those attending in virtual mode), the fee is Rs.3000/- (Rupees three thousand). To receive degree in absentia the fee is Rs. 1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only).

Degree recipients attending the Convocation (in person & virtual mode) are required to pay Rs.3000/-. Degree recipients will retain the stole after the convocation, as a memento, which is a silk woven material designed with traditional art of Odisha and a handloom product.

For attending the Convocation degree recipients are required to maintain proper dress code, i.e. boys should wear Kurta+pajama, girls are required to wear sharee or salwar + kamij. The dress codes are to be strictly followed failing which they may not be allowed to receive the degree on the dais.

Security Guidelines

The 10th Convocation of the Institute will be held on 20th October, 2021 (Wednesday) in the Community Centre, Argul Campus, IIT Bhubaneswar. Following preliminary guidelines for security have been laid down in connection with the Convocation:

  • Invitees including the Students attending the Convocation are requested to take their seats in the Convocation Hall by 9 AM
  • Guests must carry both their Invitation Card (non-transferable) and Personal Identity Card to present them at the Main Gate before the Security Personnel. The same has to be reproduced before entering to the Convocation Hall and it is limited to only one individual.
  • Guests are requested to park their vehicles in the designated Parking Area only, and may have to walk for 500-700 meters to reach the Convocation Hall. Carrying of Umbrella is suggested in case of rain.
  • All the Invitees and students may have to pass the Hand Held Metal Detector Test and screening/sanitization as per the COVID 19 guidelines before entering the Convocation Hall.
  • Children below 12 (Twelve) years are not permitted to accompany the guests.
  • Digital devices such as Cameras, Laptops and other Personal belongings like Handbags, are not to be carried inside.
  • Mobile Phones are not allowed inside the Convocation Hall.
  • No edibles and water bottles will be allowed inside the Convocation Hall.
  • All are requested to rise when the Convocation Procession enters and leaves the Hall.
  • Invitees are requested to remain inside the Convocation Hall till the academic procession leaves the Hall.
  • Faculty members of the Institute are also requested to carry their Identity Cards.
  • For safety of the personal belongings, the same can be kept in the vehicle itself.
