In all departments of Philosophy in Indian Universities, similar courses are taught as Introduction to Indian Philosophy.

Objective of Course: This module is prepared to acquaint students with 1. the importance of Philosophy in the East and the West, 2. to provide a historical as well as philosophical outline of Indian traditions of thought, 3. to inculcate critical thinking and methods of philosophizing, 4. to develop an inter-disciplinary attitude that integrates science with humanities, 5. To enable students to situate philosophical-ethical implications of modern-innovations in science and technology from Indian perspective.
