Diffusion & transport process in oceans & atmosphere.  Geostrophic flows & vorticity Dynamics. Ekman layer, barotropic waves & instability. Stratification & its effects, internal waves. Turbulence in stratified fluids. Introduction to stratified rotating flows – Quasi-Geostrophic dynamics, instabilities & geostrophic turbulence.
