Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya, a Padma Bhushan Awardee and a name synonymous with reviving and revitalizing the UK and the global manufacturing industry, Professor Asit K. Biswas, recipient of The Stockholm Water Prize, the world’s most prestigious prize for outstanding achievement in water-related activities and Dr. B. B. Rath, a Padma Bhushan Awardee and Department of Defense, USA - Distinguished Civilian Service Awardee, have been appointed by the Board of Governors of IIT Bhubaneswar as the Distinguished Visiting Professors, the highest prestigious honorary position of the Institute.

Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya (Link to Profile) is currently a Professor and the Director of WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group), UK, which he founded.

Professor Asit K. Biswas (Link to Profile) is currently a Professor and the President of the Third World Centre for Water Management, Mexico, which was founded by him.

Dr. B. B. Rath (Link to Profile) is currently the Associate director of Navel Research Laboratories, US Navy, USA and has served on numerous positions of critical importance and high scientific & industry value. He is a recipient of numerous awards for his outstanding achievement and contribution to the scientific community. Michigan Technological University has established the Bhakta B. Rath Research Award for the best doctoral thesis in science and engineering and the Colorado School of Mines has established a departmental library in his name.

As Distinguished Visiting Professors they will act as Mentors of the Institute enabling it in scripting a path towards distinction. They will advise the institute in all aspects of academics and research.
