\u00a0<\/strong>IIT Bhubaneswar invites applications from well-qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor\u00a0to teach a new course \u201cSports, Nutrition and Fitness\u201d<\/strong> under the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (BSc.-B.Ed.).<\/p>

About the course- \u201cSports, Nutrition and Fitness\u201d:<\/strong><\/p>

The course Sports, Nutrition, and Fitness will seek to<\/strong> bridge the gap between human physiology and dietary science to optimise physical performance and overall well-being. This course aims at enabling student teachers to recognize the importance of good health, fitness, and the right nutrition to live a healthy life. It also provides students with the experience of organizing and participating in sports and games.<\/p>

After completion of the course, student teachers will be able to: explain the importance of sports, and the need and impact of sport for maintaining; discuss physical fitness, and the methods of teaching and organization of different types of sports; explain the importance of physical fitness; describe different components of physical fitness; and identify activities that help maintain physical fitness, recognize the importance of basic health and nutrition and healthy lifestyles and identify food items that help maintain basic health and nutrition among children of different age groups.<\/p>

Responsibilities<\/strong>: The faculty members will be expected to teach the above course as per the norms of the Institute.<\/p>

Qualification:<\/strong> The qualification and expected contributions as articulated in the MoE guidelines for hiring Adjunct Faculty will be as detailed below:<\/p>

  • Any candidate for adjunct faculty for this course should satisfy the following norms: <\/em><\/li><\/ul>
    1. Must have an M.P.Ed\u00a0 and Ph.D in Physical Education and Sports (Specialization in Physical Education Pedagogy\/Sports Psychology) <\/em><\/li>
    2. Her\/his association must add value to the academic programme\/students.<\/em><\/li><\/ol>

      The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a seminar presentation and interaction.<\/p>

      Appointment duration:<\/strong> Initial appointment will be for a semester and may be extended for another semester as per the Institute norms.<\/p>

      Compensation<\/strong>: The salary structure of such an appointment is as follows:<\/p>

      • Adjunct Assistant Professor \u2013 Honorarium of Rs. 3,000\/- per lecture hour.<\/li><\/ul>

        In addition to the above, Adjunct faculty would be provided the following travel assistance with local hospitality as stated below:<\/p>

        1. Institute will provide a hired vehicle for the local travel (Bhubaneswar-Puri-Cuttack) for their visit(s). In case of non-availability of such arrangement, Institute will bear Rs. 1,000\/- per visit subject to the maximum ceiling of Rs. 25,000\/- in a semester.<\/li>
        2. In case, any visits made by the faculty members from the cities other than those mentioned above, Institute will bear the travel expenses (as per actual costs) subject to a maximum 6 (six) number of visits in a semester.<\/li><\/ol>

          No accommodation would be permissible, however she\/he shall be provided free lodging and boarding in the Institute Guest House as per the availability of the rooms in the Guest House. She\/he shall be given the above honorarium per lecture hour subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 1,20,000\/- per month.<\/p>
