54th Inter IIT Sports Meet to be Inaugurated at IIT Bhubaneswar on 15th Dec, 2019

The 54th Inter-IIT sports meet is going to be organized at IIT Bhubaneswar from 15th Dec to 21st Dec, 2019. This will be the first time in the history that the meet will be co-hosted by two IITs namely IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bhubaneswar. Eight sports will be organised by IIT Kharagpur while the rest four by IIT Bhubaneswar.

Shri. Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India is going to be Chief Guest. Ms. Dutee Chand, Indian professional sprinter is the Guest of Honour. The event will be presided over by Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar.

The four events to be co-hosted by IIT Bhubaneswar are Badminton, Squash, Table-tennis, and Volleyball. About 800 students are expected to participate from 23 IITs in the 54th Inter IIT Sports meet. The eight-day sports meet will conclude on 21st December 2019 which will see students of the institutions participating in four different sports activities at IIT Bhubaneswar and the remaining eight sports will be held at IIT Kharagpur and will be concluding on 22nd Dec, 2019.
