IIT Bhubaneswar marks successful debut at BSI 2016

Team Knocksoniacs, comprising of nine undergraduate students from School of Mechanical Sciences under the guidance of Dr. Arun Kumar Pradhan and Dr. Mihir Kumar Das participated in BAJA Student India 2016 held at Buddh International Circuit, Noida from 21st January 2016 till 26th January 2016

This competition was attended by more than ninety teams which included teams from other IITs (IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU and IIT Hyderabad). The off-road vehicle was made in mere three months (July-September, 2015). The team secured 10th position in the endurance event, becoming one among the only ten teams out of ninety seven and the first among all the IITs to have completed the event without failure. It completed twenty two laps in the scheduled time.

Vehicle pulling event in which Scorpio was pulled in 18 seconds. The lowest recorded time was 11 seconds.

"Knocksoniacs", derived from two words Knock and Sonic Boom, was founded in 2014 by Deepak Lamba under SAE Colligative Club-IIT Bhubaneswar.
