IIT Bhubaneswar will celebrate our 70th independence day, 15 august 2016 in Argul campus.

08.50 AM: Students, faculty members, officers and  staff members will assemble in the play ground near  Mahanadi Hall of Residence
09.00 AM: Arrival of the Director, escorted by the Parade Commanding Officer
09.03 AM: Floral tribute to Father of the Nation and Bharatmata
09.05 AM: Hoisting of the National Flag by the Director followed by National Anthem
09.10 AM: Independence Day address by the Director
09.50 AM: Patriotic songs by the students
10.00 AM: Folk based Fancy Dress /Song /Dance will be performed by the students of all the adopted villages of the Institute and nearby Schools
10.30 AM: Inauguration of Plantation by the Director and others
11.00 AM: Refreshment at Mahanadi Hall of Residence
12.00 Noon: Cultural Programme (Community Centre)
  • Soul for Solace, Rangoli  by the Fine Art Society
  • Music/Dance by the Students Dramatic Society

(The Institute will observe a day long program as part of the directives issued for fortnight celebration of 70th Independence Day by MHRD, Govt. of India. The mass Plantation Programme by students and others will continue.)

IIT Bhubaneswar will celebrate 70th Independence Day of our Nation in its campus at Argul. As per the directives issued by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), the programme will witness many Inter-Institute Sports/Creative/Academic as well as Cultural events. Students of different schools from villages adopted by IIT Bhubaneswar under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) programme of MHRD will be encouraged to participate in a theme based Folk Arts (Music and Dance) Competition on nomination basis from the respective schools. The programme will also mark massive plantation drive inside the campus.

On the day of 15th August, 2016, Flag Hosting would be done by the Director, Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar and also present awards to the winners of the Inter college and school level competitions. It would be followed by cultural events by the Dramatic Society of the Institute and other participants.

All are cordially invited to visit the Institute campus and be a part of the celebration.

To commemorate the 70th Independence Day of our nation, the Institute has planned to celebrate the day with a series of events at its permanent campus. Following events have been scheduled to be conducted throughout the week preceding to the day. Student/Faculty/staff assigned the job may kindly ensure the preparedness in full to make it a grand event.
