As a part of the IIT Bhubaneswar recent initiatives, Prof. Ikuo Towhata, a well-known geotechnical engineering professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, Japan has visited School of Infrastructure, IIT Bhubaneswar. During his stay from 29th November to 3rd December 2016, he was extensively engaged in delivering lectures and interaction with faculty members and research scholars of the school. He has delivered remarkable lectures on monitoring of slopes for early warning of rainfall-induced landslides, liquefaction resistance of sand and remedial measures of liquefaction-affected city.
