Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality (VR and AR) have massive innovation potential across a wide range of industries and research fields. This research and innovation is currently across a range of industries including – product and skill development, Health and medical science, art and architecture, transport, construction, tourism, entertainment, education, and productivity software.

Motivation and Outcome

  • The motivation of the hackathon event on AR & VR is to give a chance for specialists from various fields interested in experimenting and executing their ideas using VR and AR technologies.
  • Participants with the background similar to that of a developer, 3D artist, designer, visionary, engineer or creator with the urge to push forward and develop relevant ideas in the area will be encouraged to participate as a team.
  • The goal of the event is to gather people with different backgrounds and experiences to work together in teams and create disruptive and inspiring products/solutions for use in every field of imagination in the AR/VR domain.
  • Participants do not have to be experienced in AR/VR. During the duration of the hackathon, the participants will learn and work on idea execution/problem solving.

Highlights

Competition

  • Two level competition: Online and offline round at IIT Bhubaneswar
  • Online round will be for Screening of best Proposals in the areas of AR/VR
  • Offline round to be organized at IIT Bhubaneswar (on January 11th-12th, 2020)

Participation

  • Each team can consist of upto 4 participants
  • Each team would suggest a project proposal in the area of AR/VR in the online round of the competition
  • The teams would arrange their own laptops along with the software and the hardware for the offline mode at IIT Bhubaneswar Exhibits on the theme of AR/VR are also welcome

Networking

  • The event would also give a chance for the participants to interact with eminent personalities from industry and academia in the domain of AR/VR though keynotes and personal interactions
  • The participants get an oppotunity to showcase their ideas and hardware demos for entrepreneurship development

Registration & Awards

  • Registration is open now. Each team should incur a registration fee of Rs. 2000/- 500/- (till 25th December 2019) and a project proposal for participation
  • All the participants would get a certificate and the first, second, and third placed teams would be awarded with additional cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/-, Rs. 50,000/- and Rs. 25,000/-, respectively
