The Convocation degree recipients are required to maintain a proper dress code. The boys should wear Kurta-Pajama and the girls are required to wear Saree or Salwar-Kamij.
The Convocation stole is an unique presentation of 'Sambalpuri' handicraft work of Odisha. It is made of highest quality silk-woven material designed with the traditional art of Odisha and a rare collection of 'Sambalpuri' handloom product. The stole is a customized design, especially meant for IIT Bhubaneswar with its Institutional logo and produced by one of the renowned handloom wear manufacturers of the State.
The degree recipients are encouraged to retain the stole after the occasion and may preserve the same as a 'life time memento.'

The 8th Annual Convocation of the institute will be held on Saturday, the 21st September, 2019 in the Argul Campus, IIT Bhubaneswar. Dr. K. Sivan, Chairman, ISRO will grace the occasion as Chief Guest and deliver the Convocation Address.
