Report on Open Day 2019, IIT Bhubaneswar

IIT Bhubaneswar successfully organized the 2nd edition of the Open Day and Exhibition on the eve of the 11th Foundation Day on 12th February 2019. The institute opened the gate to the general public from 9:30 AM to 6.00 PM on this Open Day, and witnessed a massive footfall of school students from 6th standard onward, including junior engineering students from across the city and the state. Apart from the number of colleges and schools from in and around the city of Bhubaneswar, students from far of colleges, such as Berhampur, Balasore, Kendrapada, Nayagarh, Rayagada visited the IIT Bhubaneswar campus in large numbers and participated enthusiastically in the Open Day Exhibition. More than 200 Science and Technology exhibitions / live experiments were displayed and demonstrated to the visiting students, by the students of IIT Bhubaneswar, spanning across all its schools. The visiting students were encouraged to visit all the S&T exhibits and working models on display and were also guided to all the schools within the campus by our student volunteers. The visiting students enthusiastically participated in the exhibition and shared their views with the students and faculty. All together ~6000 students, teachers and supporting staffs from 82 schools and colleges participated in the Open Day. The sole objective of the Open Day and Exhibition was to attract the school kids of remote locality, especially the girl students to the sphere of Science and Technology. It was indeed an exciting and enriching experience for all the school children, who whole heartedly participated in the day long program.

Report on Open Day 2018, IIT Bhubaneswar

The first ever Open Day and Science Exhibition has been organised by Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar on the eve of 10th Foundation day dated 12th Feb 2018. The day witnessed organising an Open Day in the campus from 11:30 AM to 5: 30 PM for participation of School students from Class-VIII to Class-XII and Junior Engineering students from across the city and the state. On the eve, as a part of the open day, a Science and Technology exhibition was organized by the students of IIT, spanning across all of its schools. More than 100 exhibits were exhibited and demonstrated to the visitors. The visiting students went through S&T exhibits and working models from school to school and enthusiastically participated in the science exhibition and shared their views with the students and faculty. It was very exciting and enriching experience for all the school children. More than 1000 participants from 22 schools and colleges participated in the programme.
