Seminars By Prof. Amitabha Ghosh on 21st & 23rd Oct 2019

Professor Amitabha Ghosh delivered a seminar on the topic “The Bicycle: A Technological Marvel and Great Social Reformer” on 21st October 2019 from 4 PM to 5.30 PM in the School of Mechanical Sciences. The talk was structured around three subtopics; namely evolution of the today's bicycle, it's impact on the modern society and cycle's contribution to the development of modern machines and transport vehicles. The talk was very much appreciated by the students and faculty members.

 

Professor Ghosh also delivered a seminar on the topic “The Birth of Mechanical Engineering and the Future Trends” on 23rd October 2019 from 5 PM to 6.30 PM. This talk presented the basic characteristics of a field of activity that can be considered to be “Mechanical Engineering”. Professor Ghosh also discussed the development of the curricula and the expected nature of Mechanical Engineering and its extreme dependence on the advanced science subjects including life science in the not too distant future. Research Scholars from the School of Mechanical Sciences had opportunity to discuss their Ph.D. thesis research with Professor Ghosh.
