7th Event of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat with Goa-Jharkhand celebrated in IIT Bhubaneswar

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar under the leadership of it’s Director Prof. R.V. Rajakumar has organized the 7th informative and cultural event out of scheduled 16 days of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) series of events, with paired states of Goa and Jharkhand in its Campus at Argul, Jatni on 29th June 2018. Doordarshan, Bhubaneswar has taken coverage of the whole event.
‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme was launched by the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote engagement amongst the people of states and union territories in the country in order to enhance mutual understanding and bonding between people of diverse cultures, thereby securing stronger unity and integrity of India. The programme envisions to portray the unity amongst cultural diversity of the paired states and union territories, as per the guidelines of Ministry of Human Resources and Development. Indian institute of Technology Bhubaneswar headed by Director, Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar, geared up fully responding to the holistic endeavor of the Government to make it reality by planning to organise sixteen events of cultural exchange in a span of one year and the students, faculty members, staffs whole heartedly participating in the events in a spirited manner.
On this 7th occasion with the paired states of Goa and Jharkahand, large performers including students, staffs, faculty and their family members from different age groups, cultures, and states participated in the informative and cultural event of these paired states.
The major attraction of the event apart from the cultural extravaganza was the spot quiz game competition, where audiences participated enthusiastically. The questions were based on the History, Geography, Culture, Tradition etc of the paired states. There was a poster exhibition on the paired states. Also informative videos played in the beginning of the event to provide information of the paired states.
The children of faculty and staff members have came to attend the event in the traditional attire of paired states, was one of the major attraction. Although the event was held during the vacation period, still a large participation from students to witness the event is a step forwards towards achieving the objective of the EBSB initiative. The participants were presented with a token of appreciation for their energetic performances.
Dr. Sourav Sil, on behalf of the EBSB coordinating team of IIT Bhubaneswar, welcomed the audience on this occasion and acknowledged the active participation of all performers. He mentioned that in the absence of such lively audience, these series of events wouldn’t have been so successful. He had expressed his gratitude to Director, IIT Bhubaneswar and Nodal officer, EBSB for their guidance and encouragement to conduct such events. He had expressed his sincere thanks to Doordarshan team and the media persons who have came to give coverage to the event.
