Celebration of the 70th Republic Day by IIT Bhubaneswar


Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar celebrated 70th Republic Day in its Campus at Argul. The event was attended by distinguished Guests, Faculty, Staff and Students in a large numbers with a great enthusiasm and spirit.  On this occasion, Director Professor R. V. Raja Kumar hoisted the National Flag and took Guard of Honour.   

In his address, he reminded the audience about upholding the spirit of democracy and Republic in Governance and life of every citizen of the country.  He called for up-holding of the values of the Constitution of India in the functioning of governance and behavior.  He called upon the students to excel in their individual skills and to be a part of the growth of the nation as the society also has a lot of expectations from them.  The Director thanked all the faculty, staff and campus inmates for their whole hearted support and contribution in bringing an environment of wellness in the Institute. 

He expressed his happiness at the growth of the Institute to reach to a maturity level by excelling in all directions, be education and research, rankings both national and international and setting up a good academic culture.  The Director gave away the prizes to the winners of different events and appreciated the contribution of the students in making it very effective and large in upholding the values and stature of the Institute. 

Students and security personnel of the Institute showcased some outstanding performances during the programme and the audience was spellbound looking at their exhibition of talents. The performances include march-past, aerobatics, national songs, fire drill and dare devil actions.  The programme was concluded by a vote of thanks by EAA Coordinator.
