Dr. Simontini Sensarma Assistant Professor
School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences

Research Interests

1. Geochemical evolution of mantle through subduction of lithosphere and recycling of elements, contributing to mantle heterogeneity;

2. Understanding paleo-ocean circulation and mobility of elements in marine deposits like polymetallic nodules and associated sediments;

3. Study of Proterozoic continental shear zones and the associated mafic-ultramafic rocks to understand their role in evolution of proto Indian shield;

4. Study of oceanic crust and seawater interaction in modifying the seawater chemistry through time and its effect on global biogeochemical cycle.
