Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM)

Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is an entrance examination administered and conducted across the country jointly by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on behalf of Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

The main objective of JAM is to consolidate science as a career option for to all nationals (Indian/Foreign students) for direct admission to around 3000 seats available for various postgraduate programs such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, M.S.(R) etc at IITs.

The vibrant academic ambience, the inter-disciplinary interactions and research infrastructure of the admitting institutes will motivate the students to pursue further careers in frontier areas of basic sciences as well as inter-disciplinary areas of science and technology in academia and industry.

Notice:
The JAM-2025 admission portal for various master’s programs across 22 IITs is open from March 26, 2025, to April 9, 2025. Eligible candidates, based on their respective category and performance in the JAM 2025, can apply through the JOAPS portal, https://joaps.iitd.ac.in/. All eligible candidates have received their scorecards via the JOAPS portal with their existing credentials. Admissions will be conducted in four rounds, and candidates will have the opportunity to select programs and institutes based on their qualifying test papers.
