Awareness Talk on Reducing Sugar, Salt & Oil Consumption Held at Sanjeevan Health Centre

Bhubaneswar, 14th September 2025:  As part of the Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) 2025 celebrations, Sanjeevan Health Centre successfully hosted an informative Awareness Talk on Sunday, 14th September 2025, at the Community Centre, focusing on the theme: “Reducing Consumption of Sugar, Salt, and Oil”

The session was led by Dr. Anjana Tripathy, a visiting clinical nutritionist, who engaged the audience with practical advice, scientific insights, and real-life strategies for improving dietary habits. The event saw enthusiastic participation from community members, health-conscious individuals, and families keen to make healthier lifestyle choices.

Dr. Tripathy emphasized the growing health risks associated with excessive consumption of sugar, salt, and oil—highlighting their link to conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. She also offered simple, actionable tips for reducing intake without compromising on taste or satisfaction, encouraging attendees to read food labels, cook at home more often, and choose whole, natural ingredients.

Highlights of the Event:

Interactive Q&A where attendees discussed daily diet challenges

Live examples of common foods and healthier alternatives

Awareness on hidden sugars and salts in packaged foods

Emphasis on millet-based, fiber-rich diets

One of the standout features of the event was the millet-based food sampling and sale, which introduced attendees to delicious and nutritious alternatives to refined grains. Dishes made from ragi, bajra, jowar, and foxtail millet were offered, showcasing the versatility and health benefits of these traditional grains.

Attendees appreciated the opportunity to taste and purchase these products, supporting a shift toward sustainable and healthy eating habits.
