Vigilance Awareness

At IIT Bhubaneswar, we are deeply committed to fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct within our community. Our approach to combating corruption is rooted in preventive vigilance, which focuses on proactively strengthening systems to eliminate opportunities for malpractice. By leveraging technology and promoting a vigilant mindset, we ensure the highest standards of accountability in all our institutional functions.

 Key Initiatives and Actions

Our preventive vigilance efforts are built on a multi-pronged strategy that combines awareness, robust digital systems, and clear channels for redressal. Here are the key initiatives we have undertaken:

  • Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week: Each year, IIT Bhubaneswar actively participates in the nationwide Vigilance Awareness Week, as mandated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). This week-long program features a range of activities, including talks by eminent speakers, seminars, and the administration of an integrity pledge, to reinforce the importance of integrity and ethical practices among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Dedicated Vigilance Complaint Portal: To provide a secure and confidential channel for reporting complaints, we have established a dedicated Vigilance Complaint Portal. This online platform ensures that all concerns are received by the designated authorities, investigated promptly, and handled with the utmost discretion, upholding the principles of fairness and confidentiality.
  • Cybersecurity Best Practices: Recognizing the critical role of technology in modern governance, we have published a Cybersecurity Best Practices Manual on our website. This manual provides essential guidelines to safeguard digital assets, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure online transactions, thereby minimizing vulnerabilities and preventing cyber-related malpractices.
  • Implementation of e-Office Module: To streamline administrative processes and enhance transparency, we have initiated the implementation the e-Office Module within our ERP system. This digital workflow system ensures all file movements and approvals are tracked electronically, reducing delays, eliminating paperwork, and providing a transparent audit trail for all official communications and decisions.

Through these initiatives, IIT Bhubaneswar is actively building a resilient and accountable ecosystem where technology and integrity work hand-in-hand to promote a corruption-free environment and contribute to the nation’s progress.
